Police have given the go-ahead to the BNP to hold a rally outside its headquarters in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan, and the Awami League less than two kilometres away, outside Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
Dhaka Metrpolitan Police informed the parties about the decision amid heightened political tension on Friday, a day before the rallies are scheduled to be held.
The law enforcers have imposed 20 conditions for the rallies, said Biplob Kumar Sarker, an additional commissioner at DMP.
